Kosher salt or pickling salt. Several table salt has additives. Also there are different recipes with 1 cup of warm filtered tap or cooled boiled water: 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp Karo syrup (matches body physiology better) or 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda; 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, with 1/8 tsp hydrogen peroxide (for infections). The recipe can be refrigerated in a closed jar for up to 2 weeks. Throw away excess because it's cheap to make and not worth allowing a chance of spoilage.
